Blow the Whistle on Asthma

Did you know that asthma is the leading chronic illness among children and the cause of more than 5,000 deaths in the U.S. each year. I'm sure many people are unaware of the devastating effects of this chronic lung disease. I myself was diagnosed with asthma at the age of 2.

Therefore, I have signed up as a participant in the American Lung Association of DC' 2005 Blow the Whistle on Asthma Walk, scheduled for October 8th at Gallaudet University. I have set a personal fundraising goal of $1000.00 to help the Lung Association in its fight against asthma, and I would appreciate a pledge of support to help me reach this goal.

In addition to participating in the walk, I will match all of my pledges until I've reached my goal. So please contribute regardless of the size of your contribution.

Please visit my personal web page and follow the instructions to pledge your support of this worthy cause. I would appreciate any contribution you decide to make.

Rain and Success
I would like to thank everybody who supported me and the cause. I consider my fundraising to be a success. We walked yesterday despite heavy rain. Admittedly, many participants did not show up due to the rain, but yours truly was there (after all, after my Ireland vacation, what is a little rain)! Donations are still being tallied, and many companies have not yet added their matching funds, but we raised at least $50,000 collectively! THANKS! Ryan, October 09, 2005 12:02

Contributions Still Trickling In
I'd like to once again thank all my supporters. At last count, the event raised over $75,000 and some contributions are still trickling in! I raised $1,172.50, which was more than all but two of the other particpants!!! I was unseated as the highest fund raiser by Rolando Andrewn (CEO American Lung Association of DC), and Brett Tulip.
